The Solution
FourPL was engaged to develop a systems strategy and implementation roadmap focused on logistics visibility and mobility to improve supply chain efficiency.
The project included:
- Development of a logistics visibility and mobility strategy.
- Creation of a vision, strategy, and implementation roadmap over a two-month period.
- Completion of a business case and approved program of work in the third month.
- Facilitation of engagement with multiple product and hardware vendors from the United States, Europe, and
- Australia to identify the most suitable technology solution.
- Coordination of peer discussions with organisations in the same industry to ensure best-practice outcomes.
- Consolidation of several existing initiatives into a single program, providing a unified vision for both business and IT teams.
The Results
The FourPL team completed a successful pilot project and upskilled the customer team to deliver subsequent phases.
Pilot project outcomes included:
- Day-of-operations visibility and control into the delivery of goods and services to customers.
- A single version of the truth for planned and actual performance.
- Identification of physical and information constraints that were damaging customer service and DIFOT (Delivery In Full On Time).
- Implementation of a pilot visual interface that highlighted performance in near real time, enabling dynamic resolution of exceptions and issues before they impacted customers.
