The Challenge
Linfox Logistics is Asia Pacific’s largest privately-owned logistics company, with operations employing more than 24,000 people across
10 countries. Their multinational team delivers more than $60 billion in food, medicine and resources each year across a network of
over 200 warehouses and distributioncentres.
South 32 is a Linfox customer, a mining and metals company headquartered in Perth, Western Australia.
The Linfox Digital Freight Network (DFN) project is designed to streamline the freight movement and the logistics operations across
Linfox business units. The project’s purpose was to replace current manual operations, including paperwork, spreadsheets, phone
calls, and manual data entry, with an integrated solution using Blue Yonder TMS, MTData, and SAP as maincomponents.
After the implementation and integration of Blue Yonder TMS and MTData went live in April 2020, the project faced a number of
challenges that needed to be addressed :
- Driver adoption was notadequate
- Further system enhancements were required (functionality fine-tuning for transport operationsuser)
- Freight settlement was still managed via manualprocesses
Therefore, FourPL were engaged to assist Linfox to start the next phase of the project to overcome these challenges.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
- To provide Blue Yonder TMS and MTData support to the transport operations team during the hypercarephase
- To implement and supportthefinancial integration phase (Blue Yonder TMS & SAPintegration)
The Solution
FourPL was engaged to support the next phase of the Digital Freight Network project and help drive user adoption, process improvements, and financial integration.
Key deliverables included:
- Hypercare Support to the transport operations team
- Blue Yonder TMS and MTData Support to assist users and address operational issues.
- Freight Reconciliation and Settlement Process Redesign to eliminate manual processes.
- Financial Integration Support between Blue Yonder TMS and SAP.
- Financial Integration UAT test cases development and UAT support
- Training and User Documentation including freight reconciliation and settlement user manuals.
- Go-live and Hypercare Support for finance and administration teams

Business Impact
